Giants' WR Amani Toomer is pleased with the progress he's made since undergoing surgery on his left knee seven months ago, but the team's medical staff has not cleared him to participate in drills. Toomer was on hand for Monday's OTAs but had to watch from the sidelines. Toomer is a sleeper candidate this season.
After Bucs' QB Jake Plummer attended the Idaho Celebrity Alzheimer's Benefit in his native state on Saturday, it still sounds like football is a long way from his mind. "Everything I would need to play again," he said, "I hung 'em all up in a box in storage."
The Seahawks had their first practice of a two-week voluntary minicamp on Monday and QB Matt Hasselbeck participated without limitation. His surgically repaired non-throwing shoulder is a "non-issue on the field" even though his timing isn't all the way back, Hasselbeck said. Hasselbeck is a top-10 QB and should be drafted with no doubts.
