Tory Holt

5-17-07 | WR Torry Holt (knee surgery) won't be available for OTAs

According to StLouisRams.com, Rams' WR Torry Holt (knee surgery) "won't be immediately available" for the team's OTAs. Despite the surgery, the receiver is expected to be ready for training camp.

Ricky Williams has fallen into some trouble with the league once again.

Ricky Williams' NFL story has been one with as many twists and turns as one could possibly imagine. Following the troubled running back's suspension and year spent in the Canadian Football League, it was thought Williams was ready to return to the NFL in short order. But on the eve of a possible reinstatement, it was reported that Williams had failed another drug test. Williams has since denied the claim, offering an alternate take on the story. It's just the latest bizarre set of circumstances to surround the enigmatic player, who still contends he'd like to make a return to playing.

Clinton Portis News

News: Clinton Portis (shoulder surgery) was at Redskins Park on Tuesday.

Impact: He was working with strength trainers and says he plans to be ready for June minicamps. "I'll be ready for Miami (in Week 1 at FedEx Field)," Portis said. "I'm just rehabbing and doing what the doctors tell me to." (Tue. May 8, 2007)

Bulger Time?

QB Mark Bulger of the St. Louis Rams may be the quarterback to invest in this year.  Out of the regular 17 weeks, Bulger has the easiest schedule out of all 32 quarterbacks.  If that wasn't good enough, he still has WR Torry Holt and WR Isaac Bruce as stud receivers.  WR Drew Bennett comes to town as a third receiver with great potential.  And of course, RB Steven Jackson who not only rushes the ball but is a outstanding receiver as well.  The defense still allows a lot of points which in turn pressures Bulger to throw down field and play catch-up.  Throw it all in the fantasy pot and what you get is a stellar season for Mark Bulger in the fantasy and NFL world.  Bulger is a top 5 quarterback for 2007 and will produce well if he stays away from the injury bug.

Pats Stackin'

Stackin'

The Patriots have made outstanding moves this off-season.  On paper it all looks great, signing WR Randy Moss, WR Dante Stallworth, L Adailius Thomas, WR/KR Wes Welker, S Brandon Meriweather and probably Rocky Balboa and Spider-man.  It looks as if they want to win the super bowl this year.  Off paper, it depends how fast this super team can jell and win as a team.  If the players play as individuals and not as a true team; they may fall to circumstance.  Stay tuned...

Hester The Receiver?

KR Devin Hester (the record-setting kick returner) of the Chicago Bears will make the leap from kick returner to wide receiver.  HC Lovie Smith said the All-Pro return specialist will make the switch beginning with the upcoming mini-camp.  "It's going to be a great experience.  I'm just going to go over there and try to give a little spark to the offense.  There will be more opportunities to make big plays and I think it's a great idea,"  Hester said.  QB Rex Grossman could use another receiver who has great hands and running ability.  Hester will be a prime sleeper this year to watch if he turns out to be a receiver.  Grab him low and he may turn out to be the best sleeper of 2007.  We know he can catch, and we know he can run after the catch, so why in the world would you not want him on your fantasy team.  With such incredible ball skills and athletic ability - this is one to watch for your fantasy team.
